Then with everyone gone to setup the Magic Formation, Han Li can start using his full power and all the 'ill-gotten goods' that he could not use in front of the Good Sect Members without drawing unwanted suspicions

Full Power + all magic weapons lets him fight the buffed up Evil Sect Master. Most importantly, Han Li activated his Ultimate: 'Run Han Li Run!' towards the end

So you know the Evil Sect Master is screwed

His death wasn't even worth it. Like ik he was going to die but not quite like that. This is the first time I actually feel like bursting into tears over a fictional characters death.

I wonder why in most anime it is considered cowardly to run if you can't win! That is partly why I loved reading the novel for this show because Han Li was constantly on the run against stronger opponents. He who survives till the end wins! That's the motto. Screw all those brave hearts who think death is some kind of reward! I'm a member of the immortality brigade and part of the qualification for an immortal is that they don't die. Keep on running until you find a way to win rather than go down in a blaze of glory as they say!
